Maths Unit study: Reading the Clock
Our morning started with little O asking , “what time is it?” She shows signs of learning to read time and inquisitive questions revolve around how does the clock work.
And just like that it was hint enough for me to decipher our homeed topic of the day. We talked about the clock , going in more detail of the number of hours. We did learning of the hour and the minute – hands, reading whole hours by making the clock with certain times of the day and night and also writing the time with that shown on the clock.

We used the book “tick rock jungle clock” illustrated by Thomas Taylor for the clock and time references. We have been reading this book since past 3 years and it’s always a joy during rhyming sessions.

Arts Unit study
On August 14, we did a simple colouring activity of Pakistan flag from a dear friend’s activity resource.
We also freely painted and learned pour painting and sponge painting with different paint colours.

Lots of read aloud also happened.

I also started an early reading book club more on that in a separate blog post Insha Allah.
