October Home ed 2023-24

Come October and apart from regular book club, gymnastics , arts and Qur’an reading we also inculcated the study of Middle Eastern history from a toddlers’ perspective. Some arts and some facts regarding Palestine occurred in our home ed aswell. Not to mention lots of lovely, fun, lively and lengthy discussions also took place around jannah too. Masha Allah.

Lo ask a zillion questions these days surrounding jannah, masha Allah. Questions like;

What’s it be like?

Will we walk or run when going to jannah?

Where is it exactly?

I want to play with the prophets!

Will we travel to Jannah through hot air balloons?

Will our family be there too?

I know jannah is in space, right? What about the meteors there?

Never knew we would be talking about Palestine and Masjid Al Aqsa this soon. Alhamdulillah, here we are. With the ongoing occupation turned genocide not to mention the full fledge ethnic cleansing the Palestinians are currently into, we got introduced with the mosque Al Aqsa as the first mosque for Muslims’ qiblah. Curious questions evoked as we treaded this afternoon from our mosaic art pieces of Al Aqsa and the sticking of its doors and finally when we put the shimmery moon on the dome of the rock our conversations strided as it’s been the Kaaba around which we circumambulate and towards which we face during our salaahs, little O remembers as she sometimes spread her little prayer mat with me on the floor. Then we moved towards where the mosque is situated , it’s situated in Palestine and what’s Palestine ? It’s a country like Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. Significant things help us remember this very piece of land. The land of olives and the place for so many prophets. The night ascension of Prophet Muhammad PBUH also is an important mark.
