This past month has been a lovely slow extension of talking about P, Qur’an learning, lots of legos, curating poems, reading, freestyle painting, seasons painting , mathematics , gymnastics and our all time favourite baking.

Everyday, seems a new adventure in terms of learning. I am amazed with the expanse of knowledge , observation and cognitive skills Allah SWT has blessed these little ones with. They tend to impart lasting impressions on the adults around with their learning skills. Masha Allah!

Literacy,

For reading, we recently started stage 3 of the songbirds series. I randomly ask the kids to point to a certain word that I say and they correctly respond, masha Allah.

Then when they get stuck at a certain word , we chunk the word and sound the phonemes. This week the kids gleefully chimed in whilst excitedly trying to go overboard others. It’s really nice to witness , as a parent , the results of all the hard work that you put in.

We do the activities pertaining to the sight words and kids love colouring and cutting and pasting the cut outs on paper.

One of the slaying technique for reading that we got to learn is sliding the phonemes that way the words sound correctly as it is. Awe-Some! Alhamdulillah.

Mathematics;

This month we got to learn fractions in different ways.

I showed all the unit measuring cups to her and they were all the fractions we learned.

We also made a Fraction bird craft, the different coloured wings of the bird have number fractions smeared on them. Easy for a child to read while flapping the wings. Fun and interactive likewise.

Writing;

We got to visit the prophets city this month too. Lots of discussion surrounding Madina also occurred. Chants of green dome ! Green dome! Came out louder than expected as Lo saw them.

Lo love to curate poems and sing them all throughout the day.
