Pakistan’s Independence Day 2024-2025

Chants of “Pakistan Zindabad” fill the air as little O got to know it’s Pakistan day.

Even if it’s Eid, it’s Pakistan Zindabad in our home. It’s our home’s everyday slogan to the universal “hurrah”!

We have been celebrating the Pakistan day since the last 3 years. The purpose is to commemorate and tell stories of our homeland to our expat kids. Living away from your land and inculcating the same desi values for them which we grew up holding to.

Picture Description: Little O’s coloured Pakistan’s flag & her drawn Pakistan Flag.*

In the past years, as we were little in our home-ed, we would don the walls of the jhandis and adorn ourselves with green and white garbs. We would invite little O’s cousins , together the kids would pull off a lovely play date commemorating Pakistan all the while.

This year however we had a community driven Pakistan day of quizzes, speeches and poems.

Little O curated and recited her own poem masha Allah.

Pakistan , Pakistan

Your flag is green and white

You have beaches,

And mountains

And beautiful landscape !

You have all seasons

Orange, red,

Pink & purple

In these colours your flowers bloom

Pakistan , Pakistan

Your flag is green and white
