Since past year, we have been linking our homeed topics and unit studies with the 99 names of Allah SWT. At the tender age of 6, where we are transitioning and finding the ground of crossing the threshold of kindergarten and hopping on the Ks1 stage it’s significant that we do the needful.
I will be updating this article as we make our art for the names of Allah SWT., Insha Allah.
Al-Baseer :
We recently studied about the structure and function of the eye in the human body. With which the name of Al-Baseer seems relevant to back our learnings. We delved into the root letters of Baseer I.e. baa, saa, raa and then we understand Allah SWT sees everything. He even knows what’s inside of our hearts.
Lo put out fractions of her heart and wrote all the feelings she feels. It was a great exercise on talking about emotions and feelings and we also kept it inline with the colours her emotions feel. We also talked about how our heart is in between the two fingers of Allah SWT and how He has the power to change it !

Al- Razzaq
We made this colour mixing painting at a small age of 4.
Lo explores colour mixing here over the name of Allah SWT.

Al Qahhar, Al Mateen & Al Qādir
We made this art inspired by Van Gogh’s brush stroke style for the fire that we learnt in our Arts class this week in Artist week lessons. We are doing Prophet Ibrahim AS study and comprehended that Allah SWT posses the power solely to cool the fire if He wishes.

Al Mujeeb
We linked our study of Prophet Ibrahim AS to this beautiful name of Allah SWT and made a floral wreath of Al Mujeeb from the natural elements we collected from our nature walk.

Al Haadi
We talked about finding ways and paths with our exploration map in Madina for the Prophet’s Mosque. So we linked Al- Haadi with how Allah SWT shows and guides us in this life.

Al Baatin & Al Baari’
We started our plant unit study and learnt that Allah SWT can see what’s hidden , nothing goes secretive from Him. Like the seed that grows inside the earth. He is the inventor of all things and He makes things out of nothing. Like the Oak tree that grows out of acorn.
I asked O; “Where does the oak tree come from?“
O: “It comes from the acorn.”
I: “Where does the acorn come from?”
O: “ From the Oak tree.”
The conversation went in a loop till we defined Allah Al Baari’ made the acorn and He is the one who can make a tree out of a seed.

We made this Ramadan telescope to reinforce our learning of Al Baari.

Al Khaliq

Al Hakim
We discussed this name of Allah SWT during our study of the honeybee recently in our unit study.
