Book Reading & Comprehension: A Mouse So Small by Angela Mac Allister

Should you peek inside my home any hot afternoon you will find our heads deeply cocked in books… sunlight beaming through the window panes. If there’s one thing my daughter enjoys that’s reading, alhamdulilaah.

In our literacy session today, little O and I read our one of the favourite books. A mouse so small by Angela McAllister. We basically used the book for boosting our comprehension skills.

Literary sessions like this one sparks attention, inquisitiveness and responsiveness. Once finished I asked simple relevant questions flow this book. Where did the bear go?what did the mouse carry for the bear? And a little more to check attention: how many berries did the mouse actually carry? Also what did the squarrel say? And what happened to the hedgehog?

This was our first time practicing comprehension skills. Hope to do more such. What do you enjoy adding more to it?
